#OnMyRun

If you follow me on Instagram(@emmabean47) you will recognize my #onmyrun hashtag, I try to use as much as I can when I am out for a run to chronicle fun things I see or feel. While this morning I had a rough run (my legs were killing me for once rather than my lungs) but I decided to pat myself on the back for getting out of bed to give it a go and just finished out my loop at a quick walk. At the slower pace I noticed the lighting was amazing this morning!!! So I am taking a page out of Elise Blaha's book (she does these amazing photowalks! check them out!) and took some cool pics of my amazing, charming, utterly adorable neighbourhood! Hope you like!

Aren't my gardens looking so awesome, my mama would be so proud!

With this gorgeous weather forecasted for the next few days, get out and enjoy your neighbourhood! It really made me remember why I love where I live!

Happy Thursday,

Emma B xoxo

Dirty Little Secret....

I have this much laundry to do....but that't not the secret!

Even though I have already done this much.....but that's not the secret!!

Oh and I also did these 2 stacks of laundry that I need to hang up...but that's not the secret!!!

Also I could have gone another 2 weeks without doing laundry....but that's not the secret!!!!

THE SECRET IS....

My lesson learned after 3 days of doing laundry is not I need to do laundry more often;

or that I need to buy less clothes;

or that I need to purge the clothes I already own;

my ONLY lesson learned is that I need to buy MORE undies!!!

Have an amazing long weekend friends!

Our CRAZY Little Family

This weekend Scott and I took the boys to see their grandparents in Fenelon Falls! And by boys, yes I mean the cats! They both meow like crazy in their cat carrier, so this time we had just recently acquired a larger carrier we thought could house both cats together and maybe they would keep each other in check....a few cat fights later and they were out roaming the car with a few scratches each! Reuben settled into the position above, once we parked FYI! We did not drive with our cat on our dashboard ;)

After 2 days of demolition (Scott's parents are redoing his late Grandmother's house to move to in a year or so) and lots of visiting with Grampa (who absolutely adores his fur babies!) we headed for home. We didn't even attempt to put them in their cage this time and so they each decided they wanted to sit shotgun and watch Dad drive! Reuben eventually curled up on my lap and fell asleep, cutest thing!

I definitely want babies here soon, but these 2 make me feel like I have a good start on a CRAZY little family! They make us smile everyday and wonder how we could have found 2 of the cutest cats ever in such random circumstances!

Whether you are an animal person or not, I pretty much guarantee you would like these fur babies! Most do ;)

May Motivation

Post Number 2! Yes!

Here`s how I have this worked in my head: each month I am going to be posting 6 goals (in 3 categories) and throughout the month attempting to accomplish them all! But hey we all know what happens in my head is not necessarily reality!! Just look at my diet history! But I figure if I post some goals in blogsphere, someone will hold me accountable!

So here goes...

DIY Adventures
#1 – Refurbish old double sink.
I have had an old double compartment sink on casters for a few summers now that I have kept meaning to get around to fixing up, but per usual I have yet to get there. My goal this month is to turn this rust bucket into an amazing DIY cooler for the new deck!

#2 – Plan and draw out back deck.
Last summer, we tore down our old deck and replaced it with the Goliath of all back decks. Our time and budget only got us so far last summer though, so Scotty is working diligently to get the stairs finished and the railings up so we can check this hug project off our list. My goal this month is to draw out the deck and plan the fun parts, ie. Patio furniture, perhaps a water feature wall, and some big potted plants!!

Life
#1 – Organize Spare Room.
Living in a house with very little storage space, our only spare bedroom has become a catch all for all the junk we don’t know where to put elsewhere in the house. My goal this month is to clear the clutter, sort the papers and make some room for summer time guests!

#2 – Run twice a week, and try something different once a week.
Sometimes I question where my head is at when I make decisions! It was clearly on vacation when I signed up for a 7K Warrior Dash in July. I now am running out of time to get in shape!! Yikes! This month my goal is to get out for a run twice a week, regardless of whether I make it 5K or 1K, also I would like to try to get my body doing something different once a week. Whether this be a Sunday morning hike, a yoga class, or a roller blade to take in the neighbourood!!!

Love
#1 – Get Scott Organized
My man is seriously unorganized...seriously! He always has so much on his plate and can never figure out how to get it all done. My goal this month is to alleviate any stress he feels from me (due to nagging him) by making him a list of his To-Do’s and let him decided how and when to get them done.

#2 – Plan 2 Summer Getaways
It is unavoidable, every summer we get swamped with invites to “go here” and “see this”, and we never really get any time to ourselves. My goal for this month is to plan 2 summer getaways for just the 2 of us and mark them on the calendar before it starts to fill up!

Now let’s see how I do, month one...go!
