Pinteresting Weekend!!

Hello all! Hope you are getting super stoked for your upcoming Canada Day long weekend :) On the topic of weekends, I had a very busy, yet creative weekend past!! I wanted to share with you 3 of may favourite pins last week that I turned into reality on the weekend...

1. dIY dISHES

I have seen this idea a few times on Pinterest and since we had a wedding present to concoct for Saturday I thought I would give it a go!

Find the pin here!

First things first, I needed to decide what type of dish. I found these mugs at the Superstore for $2 and loved that they stacked!! My cupboard of mugs drives me up the wall b/c they all are precariously perched on top of one another :S

After some doodling and Scott's input(or so I let him think!) I was off to the races...

Here is what I came up with!! You could definetly tell they were hand made as the designs weren't perfect but I think that makes them even cuter! One thing to keep in mind is that until you bake them the Sharpie will rub off super easy, learned that the hard way :(

I added a few special touches...an <3 E&S so they never forget who made those awesome cups for them...and a "plz handwash me" to ensure the design stays on as long as possible!!

Then I baked them for 30 mins at 400 degrees...k maybe 27.5 as we had to run to the wedding!! I had to wrap them in tea towels until they cooled down enough to wrap them in the car between the cermony and reception :S We added a Home Depot GC to his mug and a Winners GC to hers!!

I want to wish Vicky and Zeljko the most happiness in their new adventures as a married couple and I was honoured to be part of their special day! X0X0

2. tHE bRAID bUN bANG

While my mugs were a cookin' I whipped my hair up into a sock bun and added a small braid to give it a bit more pizazz!

Find this pin here!

Here is what I came out with! It looked super cute at home...but my the time I got to the wedding it was a messsss! Scott had to drive there with no top on the Jeep! I had fly aways galore! But I loved it nevertheless! And super super super easy!

3. kISS wATERS

This pin was all over the place last week and since Scott is drinking my bank account dry with the amount of Gatorade he is consuming, I decided to give these babies a try!!

Find this pin here!

I decided to do the ALL CITRUS and the RASBERRY LIME to start! I added some mint to the Rasberry one too as I didn't know if Scott would like the herb ones or not. I found the 1L jars at my local Home Hardware...and although I purchased the plastic lids to use I found they weren't a super good seal like the metal!

We each took a jar Monday and Tuesday and both agreed the citrus was the winner!! I liked the Rasberry Lime too, but not so much the mint!! Scott doesn't take a straw with his and said he was eating mint all day!! HAHA Sorry babe! Gonna whip up some more concotions tonight and test them out...I'm thinking Watermelon and something maybe?!

Any suggestions?! Honey maybe?!

Well that was all 3! Hope you guys liked them and got some ideas of your own!! Here are a few more pins I want to try out ASAP!

Pinned Image   Rope towel rod
Crescent Rolls with Spinach, Feta and Mozzarella .... I've been wanting to try some spinach recipes. Looks good. Crunch Peanut Butter Chex mix (with Reese's pieces) this link has so many trail mix ideas...

Have a great long weekend!! We are off to a wedding in Toronto!!

Hello Kitty :)

Say hello to Reuben!! He is the newest addition to the Featherstone-Richardson clan and he could not be cuter :) I found him at one of my client's properties in Havelock last Thursday and they said he had been living in their shed for close to 3 weeks trying not to get eaten by their dogs!! Bad boy Jack! So of course as soon as I saw the colouring similarity to Clay Bear I just had to bring him home with me and give him a home. Clay and Reuben have become inseparable in just a few days and Clay is really taking on the Big Brother role. He loves Reu but is a little perturbed with us for taking away his only child status!! But he will get over that soon enough!

Anyways, just wanted to introduce you all to my new 3lb baby!!

Hope you all had a great weekend...if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you will know that I went on a shopping trip with my sista mista on Saturday and spent wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much money! But hey I got cute things :)

Laters baby ;)

When Inspiration Strikes

When I was 16 my best friend got a tattoo of a heart, and it all started.
For the next 8 years(can you believe I am that old!!) I have obsessed over getting a tattoo. First I wanted an elephant on my hip, but then I decided I wanted babies eventually and I didnt want a weiner elephant to happen so that was OUT! Next it was an elephant on my wrist, then my initials on my wrist, then my initials on my ankle, then my initials on my shoulder. My extreme fear of blood and needles always held me back and I promised myself I wouldn't get a permanent picture plastered on my body until I was 100% sure. About 2 months ago I came across this picture on Pinterest and I fell in love:

Being a Featherstone(last name) I thought this was insanely appropriate and I thought it was beautiful! But I still wanted my initials incorporated somehow to honour my moms side of the family (my great grandmother was Emma Mary Freeman, same initials!). My head battled with my heart for a long time, my fears overriding my desires. And then last week I decided I was ready, my fear turned to excitement and I decided I could handle whatever pain was thrown at me. So I messaged a tattoo artist that had been recommended by a friend and he said he could get me in Saturday. I felt like throwing up but I was overwhelmingly excited too!!! I sent him this picture and told him I wanted cursive initials and he was all ready for me when I got to his studio in Bobcaygeon on Saturday morning :) Here is what he had stenciled:

We decided on placement on my ankle, he asked me 10 times are you sure, I was finally sure! Here is the virgin area pre tattoo, take a good last look!!

He prepared his needles, told me I could watch, I kindly declined and instead turned my green face away from his activities!! I have to say the worst part was the first time he turned the gun on and it made that noise. I could just picture the needles going in and out...in and out..now I was even more green.

But I was doing it so away we went!!

Tyler @ Kings Inc Tattoos was amazing, he talked to me when I needed it, stopped when he sensed my body couldn't take it any longer and not until the very end did he decide to tell me that the number on that screen over there was the amount of times the 5 NEEDLES were going in and out per second!!! Can you guess the number?! It was 100 and freaking 25 in and out...in and out..per second!! I almost fainted but instead I patted myself on the back(mentally of course beacuse my body was so tense!!) and said you can do this! You are doing this! About an hour and a half later of 6 and a few 7 out of 10 pains I was left with this amazing piece of art that I get to show the world for the rest of my life!!

This is the next day, once I got to take off the seran wrap bandage!!

I am beyond thrilled with the outcome(my mom maybe not so much!) and I cannot stop myself from grinning everytime I look at it!!

If you live in the Peterborough area check Tyler out on Facebook, he is an awesome artist, made me feel super comfortable and has the most happy 6 month old son I have ever met!!

That's it for now!!
